BURGER BETS: Slammer Burgers

I really love burgers. It has got to be one of the best culinary masterpieces the world has ever tasted. No one can resist the allure of a burger. There are burger joints for those with tight budgets, and there are burgers fit for the affluent (the Yagyu Burger of a certain hotel is priced at about Php2,000). There is a burger for the carnivore and even the picky herbivore (I once tasted a mushroom burger in Baguio, and it really is entirely made from mushroom). That is why I have thought of doing my very own burger review, so I can share the bliss of eating different kinds of burgers from different joints around (and hopefully out) of the Metro.

Slammer Burgers is a little joint located at the foodcourt of Trinoma. It is hardly notiecable compared to the bigger joints flanking the foodcourt. But, its bright design attracts the eyes. So I decided to put it to the test. For Php135 I was able to avail of the Value Meal 2 which consisted of 2 slammer burgers (little burgers that costs 40 bucks), a regular serving of Belgian fries (I think the difference between French and Belgian is the thickness of each slice) with your choice of dip (there are over 10 dips to choose from), and a Coke can.

To tell the truth I was slightly disappointed. The burgers are small, and the patties within them are even smaller. It only has a sauce of mustard and mayo, and that is it. It doesn’t taste slamming or whatsoever. It was a complete flop. The fries were okay though. Even if the fries were served in teeny tiny boxes (like the burgers), they were tasty and not very salty. The thickness of each slice also compensated for a serving’s lack in numbers. Quality over quantity. The dip was also good (I chose barbecue). In terms of gastronomic satisfaction, it was only so-so. But I felt full even though I only ate in small servings. The service was fast and they only cook the burgers once there’s an order for it, so it will be hot once you get it. It isn’t the best burger experience, and for Php135 it may seem like a rip-off.

I give it a 3 out of 5

The burgers were BIG,but if you are not fond of eating burgers, you won’t be able to finish it. their REGULAR meal can feed 2 persons. but since i love eating burgers, i finished the whole burger! :P it was good but it was not the best burger i have eaten.
